Thomas Leslie 2005

Taking us from the origins of Kahn’s work in Pennsylvania and the Beaux Arts training through to the development of his philosophy and major works. There are a large number of volumes already written on Kahn and no doubt much of the detail of this book has been covered elsewhere.

It is however well written and gives a great deal of insight into the practicalities of achieving Kahn’s innovations, and the pragmatism which allowed for schemes to become reality.

A recommended read in understanding the significance of Kahn’s contribution to everything thereafter.
